International Guitar Night
The 3rd UK TOUR
Thursday 17 September to Monday 5 October 2009 (inc)
The 3rd UK tour of this premier mobile guitar festival based in the USA will be from Thursday 17 September to Monday 5 October 2009 (inc)
In 2007 and 2008 during the show's previous UK tours, the various players made a lot of new friends over here and impressed enormously with their sheer musical skill and desire to bring high quality guitar playing to a wide array of audiences from the Scottish Highlands, via Ireland to the south of England.
Each year the 'cast' of the show changes and once again this UK tour provides a wonderful and exciting array of musical talent with loads of potential for great on-stage interaction between very different stylists.
The 2009 line-up is:

Lulo Reinhardt (MySpace) from Germany, a grandson of the great Django and a terrifically exciting player in his own right. A fine exponent of 'gypsy jazz' as one might expect but offering much more besides.

Brian Gore (Website) from California and the IGN founder; toured the UK with IGN 2007 and 2008.
Itamar Erez (MySpace) is an Israeli born composer, pianist and guitarist with a breadth of expression from European classical to jazz, world music and beyond. Itamar's music has been commissioned and performed by soloists, ensembles, and orchestras throughout Europe, the Middle East, North America.VIDEO RECORDINGS:
The International Guitar Night 2009 can be seen and heard on video clips recorded during a Canadian concert tour earlier in 2009. Please note that the show is not a show of soloists but each will play pieces with other cast members as well as in the ensemble.

EDUCATIONAL WORK:
An important and continuing feature of IGN's UK tours has been the players' keen desire to demonstrate their music to school pupils. This has led to school visits in Lerwick (Shetland during the guitar festival in 2008), Fortrose and Fochabers near Inverness (2008), and in Edinburgh (2007, 2008). So successful have these visits been that we have been able to develop this year's tour so that almost all the gigs have day-time educational visits attached to them.
The International Guitar Night is a great musical experience for all concerned as it demonstrates interplay and idea-swapping by world class musicians from sometimes very different musical 'persuasions' who are all none the less at the top of their game.
