Parallelogram
Parallelogram is a meeting of minds from the UK's leading centres of new music: London and Edinburgh.
Aidan O'Rourke, Martin Green and Kris Drever (Lau) and Pete Wareham (Acoustic Ladyland) have been blazing trails of innovation within their relevant genres. Joining forces with Flook's Brian Finnegan (whistles/flute), John Blease (Drums) and Oli Hayhurst (Bass), this music dream-team met to rehearse in the Scottish Highlands. Writing original, organic and contemporary new compositions, Parallelogram brings together the diverse experiences of these exceptional music-makers. They forge a strong musical ensemble and a completely original set.
Much more than folk-jazz fusion, this is a genre-defying, beautifully anomalous nucleus of creative sound. This is Parallelogram.
This work was commissioned by Towersey Village Festival, Folk in the Fall and Stoneyport Associates and was made possible with funding from the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, Scottish Arts Council and the PRS Foundation.
