What our Artists are doing currently and in the near future.
Recording work is currently underway on Mark Dunlop's solo album with the working title 'Islands on the Moon'. This album will be due for release in late 2008.
In June, Malinky are off touring in Denmark, with gigs in Sommersted, Tønder, and at Halkaer Festival.
Then in July the band are off to the USA with dates in New York, Maine, Massachussets and Pennsylvania, before returning to commence work on the fourth Malinky studio album, at Dougie MacLean's Butterstone Studio. This album will be released on the Greentrax label in September 2008.
Malinky voted Top Band!
Feb 2007 : In a recent poll at the Edinburgh Folk Club, Malinky were voted by the members as having given "the best night" in 2006.
Late on in 2006, the band had two great tours of Germany (October) and The Netherlands/Belgium (December). Then to kick off 2007, they had a great start to the year sell-out show at Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow. They shared this gig with the excellent Swedish band Ranarim and even joined up as a 10-piece super-group for a few numbers at the end of the night!
Malinky are now setting their sights on their imminent trip to The North American Folk Alliance in Memphis Tennesee at the end of February, where they have been chosen as "Official Showcase Artists", meaning they'll have two shows at the event, sharing the bill on the 'Heritage' Stage with Session A9, Bodega & Emily Smith amongst others.
When Malinky return home they play some UK gigs including: The Sage Gateshead, Doune & Dunblane Fling, Warwick Folk Festival and Lomond Festival (tbc) and are now booking for summer 2007 and their UK tour in October.
Also in the pipeline are potential tours of Sweden & Scotland with Ranarim and a trip to Italy
