Mike Whellans has won the prestigious Bruno Award for the 'Overall Best Entertainer and Artist' at the19th Mettman Blues Festival held in Mettman, Germany in early March 2008.
This award is given annually and is particularly prized because the winner is chosen by the audience.
The Mettman Blues Festival celebrates the talent of the world's best blues musicians, and the strength of the talent on display was once again formidable.
Mike said: "I am very happy to accept this prize and honoured that from such a depth of talent and great music at Mettman Blues Week that the audience would pick me for the prize. Being recognised and given awards is always a great lift but to be chosen by the audience makes it so much better! I would like to say a big thanks to all those who voted for me and I look forward to coming back next year."
